No One Is Good or Evil

Local authors Judy Temes and Ronit Plank on childhood trauma, reconciliation, and seeing people who have caused us harm as complex characters.

Judy Temes’s memoir is Girl Left Behind, about being left in her native Hungary for five years as a child while her parents sought to establish a new life in New York.

Ronit Plank’s memoir is When She Comes Back, about her childhood after her mother left to follow guru/cult leader Baghwan Shree Rajneesh.

“When a writer is born into a family, the family is finished.” The quote is attributed to Czeslaw Milosz.
