Interestingly, the upswing in Jew hatred coming from the left, where most of us Jews reside, might have something to do with the upswing in ease of youth recruitment by Orthodox Jewish outreach organizations. An article in the most recent Jewish Action, a publication of the Orthodox Union, quoted a number of outreach professionals who spoke about the changing landscape over the last few decades. The takeaway seems to be that with less emphasis on truth and more emphasis on feeling good, young Jews seem more open to considering orthodoxy. From my point of view, it looks like the higher education system is really paving the way for this phenomenon - both by the post- modernist disavowel of the existence of objective truth and by the shame- and guilt-focused rhetoric that has taken the place of and masquerades as critical discourse.

And just as an aside, does anyone in any position of responsibility wonder why the mental health of college students in every demographic is cratering? Who is all this hyper-left-wing stuff supposed to be helping?

On a brighter note, happy new year and thanks for your great work this year, Emily.
