It's awful that we are going through this again. While I haven't had the same experiences as Tova, I've seen the immediate support for Palestine without any knowledge of the situation. In my opinion, it is a gray area, not black and white.
Over the weekend, I discussed this issue with another Jewish American. She was frustrated because many people ask her opinion because she is Jewish, even though she's never lived - or even been to - Israel. To her, that is tokenism. While I welcome the genuine desire to educate themselves, I understand her point of view. If war was breaking out in different countries, it's not regular that people who have never lived in that country to be asked these questions.
