"Trauma porn?!" Of all the ignorant, double-standard, antisemitic BS. I suppose that they would never refer to the the imagery of Black Americans being gunned down by police officers in that way. Or the current media coverage in Gaza. What's oppression for one group is "trauma porn" for another. So hypocritical.

Kudos to Rabbi Olivier BenHaim for writing an intelligent and thoughtful column intended for Real Change. Although I am not a “progressive,” it also pains me to see Jews and others like BenHaim marginalized by their fellow progressives with whom he has collaborated with for years. I hope BenHaim and other progressives seriously evaluate with whom they ally with in the future and continue to support Israel and the Jewish people.

Holocaust education should include the history of how, in the late 19th C and early 20th C, the Germans massacred Southwest Africans for rebelling against slave labor conditions, and then took the Africans to concentration camps there, and conducted horrible atrocities, including eugenics "research." Goebbels was the son of the German governor of SW Africa who conducted the mass murder, and one of the leaders later hired and promoted the career of Hitler. And after World War I, France brought conscripted African soldiers to Germany, and a wave of racism was unleased in Germany, with even US President Warren Harding participating. I hope that Holocaust education will teach that the antisemitism of the Holocaust and the racism against Black people were related.

It's strange that BLM and Black political leaders are silent on the RSF terrorists killing 9300 Black people in Sudan, as reported by CNN. The RSF terrorists stated that they didn't want any Black people in Sudan. The atrocities they committed were similar to or worse than those committed by Hamas, which was RSF 2.0 in 2023. And we, as Jews, should call out the deaths of Black people in Sudan and Africa. Somehow these topics are omitted from Black History Month.
